What is Business Coaching?

As a small-business owner or new-start entrepreneur you may find you lack experience and understanding in some key areas of business.  Or perhaps you've hit a tough patch and need some clarity and motivation to start moving forwards?  Or maybe there's simply too much to do, and you're struggling to find the resources to get vital tasks completed in time?

A business coach can provide support and mentoring specifically tailored for your organisation, for just as long as you need it.

Business coaching enables the client to understand their role in achieving business success, and to enhance that role in ways that are measurable and sustainable. The coaching process may take different forms...and involve different goals...but throughout there is a clear focus on the business objectives of both the client and the organisation.

Business coaching might involve designing a budget or marketing programme; it might be about reducing costs; or identifying the kind of skills you need to recruit in order to complete your team.  It might be about securing investment - by pitching your business to the investor community.  Or it might be about managing change - be it due to expanding your team, developing a new business line, merging, down-sizing, introducing new technology, or a host of other challenges.

Equally important, if less tangible, business coaching is about defining your business vision.  It's about the values you want to instill in your team.  It's about the way you want to work together, and the organisational culture you want to build.  It's about developing leaders who ensure great performance whilst building an engaging and fulfilling work environment.
